iMovie for Mac OS Mojave has a number of new features that make it even more powerful and easy to use. One of the most significant new additions is support for 4K video editing. This means that you can now edit and output 4K video at up to 60 frames per second. 4K video editing requires a Mac with a powerful processor and plenty of RAM, but if you have the right hardware, it’s a great way to get the most out of your 4K footage.
Another new feature in iMovie for Mac OS Mojave is the ability to import HEVC (High Efficiency Video Codec) video. HEVC is a new video codec that offers significantly better compression than older codecs like H.264. This means that you can now store more video on your Mac, or transfer it to other devices more quickly. If you have a Mac with a Touch Bar, you’ll also be able to use it to control iMovie. The Touch Bar provides quick access to commonly used iMovie tools, and makes it easy to perform tasks like trimming video or adding titles.
If you’re new to iMovie, or just want to brush up on your skills, Apple offers a number of free tutorials on its website. These tutorials cover everything from the basics of importing and editing video, to more advanced topics like creating Hollywood-style trailers.
