How to Use the Character Viewer in Mac OS Mojave
The Character Viewer is a great tool for finding special characters and symbols in Mac OS Mojave. Here’s how to use it.
To open the Character Viewer, go to your Applications folder and double-click on the Character Viewer icon.
In the Character Viewer window, you’ll see a list of categories on the left. Click on a category to see the characters it contains.
To insert a character into your document, double-click on it. The character will be inserted at the insertion point (the blinking vertical line) in your document.
You can also drag a character from the Character Viewer window into your document.
If you can’t find the character you’re looking for, try using the search field at the top of the window. Just type in a description of the character you’re looking for and the Character Viewer will show you a list of matching characters.
When you’re finished using the Character Viewer, you can close the window by clicking the close button in the top-left corner of the window.
In Mac OS Mojave, the Character Viewer has been redesigned and moved. It is now located in the input menu in the menu bar.
To use the Character Viewer:
1. Open any application that supports text input, such as TextEdit, Mail, or Safari.
2. Click the input menu in the menu bar, then select Show Character Viewer.
3. The Character Viewer will appear as a floating window.
4. To insert a character, double-click it.
5. To insert a sequence of characters, such as an emoji, click and drag them from the Character Viewer into your document.
To insert special characters:
1. Click the input menu in the menu bar, then select Show Character Viewer.
2. The Character Viewer will appear as a floating window.
3. Click the Special Characters tab.
4. To insert a character, double-click it.
5. To insert a sequence of characters, such as an emoji, click and drag them from the Character Viewer into your document.
You can also use the Character Viewer to insert symbols, such as mathematical symbols or currency symbols.
To insert symbols:
1. Click the input menu in the menu bar, then select Show Character Viewer.
2. The Character Viewer will appear as a floating window.
3. Click the Symbols tab.
4. To insert a symbol, double-click it.
5. To insert a sequence of symbols, click and drag them from the Character Viewer into your document.
You can also use the Character Viewer to insert emoji.
To insert emoji:

The Character Viewer in Mac OS Mojave is a handy tool that lets you insert special characters and symbols into your documents. Here’s how to use it:
1. Open the Character Viewer
There are two ways to open the Character Viewer:

2. Use the Character Viewer
The Character Viewer will open as a floating window in the center of your screen. You can browse the different categories of characters and symbols, or search for a specific character or symbol.

3. Customize the Character Viewer
You can customize the Character Viewer to make it even more useful. To do this, open the View menu and select Customize List….
In the resulting window, you can add or remove character categories, and rearrange the order in which they appear. You can also choose to have the Character Viewer open in the same location on your screen each time you open it.
When you’re done, click Done.
4. Use the Emoji Viewer
The Character Viewer also includes an Emoji Viewer, which lets you insert emoji characters into your documents. To access the Emoji Viewer, click the Emoji button at the bottom of the Character Viewer window.
The Emoji Viewer works similarly to the Character Viewer: you can browse the different categories of emoji, or search for a specific emoji. When you find the emoji you want to insert, double-click it or drag it into your document.
5. Use the Symbol Viewer
The Character Viewer also includes a Symbol Viewer, which lets you insert symbols into your documents. To access the Symbol Viewer, click the Symbols button at the bottom of the Character Viewer window.
The Symbol Viewer works similarly to the Character Viewer: you can browse the different categories of symbols, or search for a specific symbol. When you find the symbol you want to insert, double-click it or drag it into your document.
Assuming you have Mac OS Mojave installed, here’s how to use the Character Viewer:
1. Open any application that allows you to type text. This could be a word processor, text editor, or even the Notes app.
2. Place your cursor where you want to insert a character.
3. Click on the Edit menu and select Special Characters. Alternatively, you can press Control + Command + Space on your keyboard to bring up the Character Viewer.
4. The Character Viewer will appear as a floating window. You can browse through the different categories of characters, or use the search field to find a specific character.
5. When you find the character you want to insert, simply double-click on it and it will be inserted at your cursor’s location.
