How to Use the Artboard Tool in Affinity Designer

Creating an Artboard
To create an artboard, simply click on the “Artboard” tool in the toolbox, or use the shortcut ” Shift+O”. Then, click and drag on the canvas to create your artboard. The size of the artboard will be determined by how far you drag your mouse. You can also create a custom artboard by clicking on the ” Artboard” tool and then clicking on the ” Custom” option in the top toolbar. This will allow you to enter in the width and height of your artboard.
Editing an Artboard
To edit an artboard, simply select the artboard you want to edit by clicking on it. Then, you can use the ” Edit” tool in the top toolbar to move, resize, or rotate the artboard. You can also duplicate an artboard by selecting it and then clicking on the ” Duplicate” button in the top toolbar. This will create an exact copy of the artboard.
Exporting an Artboard
To export an artboard, select the artboard you want to export by clicking on it. Then, click on the ” Export” button in the top toolbar. This will open the export dialogue box. In the dialogue box, you can choose the file format, resolution, and destination for the exported file.
In Affinity Designer, the Artboard tool is used to create print-ready documents with bleed and margins. Here’s how to use it:
1. Open a new document in Affinity Designer.
2. In the Layers panel, click the “+” icon and select “Artboard” from the menu.
3. In the Artboard Properties panel, enter the dimensions for your document.
4. Select the “Bleed” checkbox and enter the bleed value in the field next to it.
5. Select the “Margin” checkbox and enter the margin value in the field next to it.
6. Click the “Create” button.
Your document is now ready to be printed.
If you need to make changes to the artboard, simply double-click on it in the Layers panel and make your changes in the Artboard Properties panel.
When you’re finished, click the “Done” button.
In the top menu, select the Artboard tool or press Shift+O.
Click and drag on the canvas to create an artboard. By default, the artboard will be created at the size of the document, but you can change the size by clicking and dragging on the edges or corners.
To move an artboard, click and drag on the artboard or use the arrow keys.

To fit an artboard to the window, press Ctrl/Cmd+0.
To center an artboard on the canvas, press Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+C.
To see the edges of an artboard, press Shift+O or select Show Artboard Edges from the View menu.
