Assuming you have followed the instructions in the “How to Set Up Hive Active Plugs for Smart Device Control” article, you should now have your Hive Active Plugs up and running and be able to control them using the Hive app on your smartphone or tablet.

In this article we will show you how to use the Hive app to set up schedules and routines for your Hive Active Plugs, so that they can automatically turn on or off at certain times, or in response to certain events.

Schedules and routines can be created for individual Hive Active Plugs, or for groups of plugs. To create a schedule or routine for an individual plug, open the Hive app and tap on the ‘Devices’ tab. Then tap on the plug you want to create the schedule or routine for.

On the next screen, tap on the ‘Schedules’ tab. Here you will see a list of all the schedules and routines that have been created for this particular plug. To create a new schedule or routine, tap on the ‘+’ button in the top right-hand corner.

On the ‘Create Schedule’ screen, you will need to give your schedule or routine a name, and then select when you want it to start and end. You can also tap on the ‘Repeat’ switch to have the schedule or routine repeat on certain days of the week.

Once you have set the start and end times, tap on the ‘+’ button in the ‘Action’ section. Here you can choose whether you want the plug to turn on or off at the specified time.

If you want the plug to turn on or off in response to an event, such as someone opening the front door, you will need to tap on the ‘Trigger’ tab. Here you can choose from a range of different events that can trigger the plug to turn on or off.

Once you have finished setting up the schedule or routine, tap on the ‘Save’ button in the top right-hand corner. Your schedule or routine will now be saved and will appear in the list on the ‘Schedules’ tab.

To edit or delete a schedule or routine, tap on it in the list and then make the necessary changes. To delete the schedule or routine, tap on the ‘Delete’ button in the top right-hand corner.

If you want to control a lamp, TV, or other appliance without getting up, you can do so by using a Hive Active Plug. You can also use the Hive app to set a schedule for when you want the power to turn on or off. Here’s how to set up a Hive Active Plug:
