How to Remove Unwanted Objects in Affinity Photo

In this article we’ll show you how to remove unwanted objects from your images in Affinity Photo.

Whether you’re trying to remove a small object from an image, or erase a whole person or object from a photo, the process is similar. In this tutorial we’ll show you how to use the Clone Stamp and Eraser tools to remove unwanted objects from your photos.

We’ll also show you how to use the Inpainting Brush tool to fill in the gaps left behind by the removed object.

Here’s the image we’ll be working with:

Removing small objects with the Clone Stamp tool

The Clone Stamp tool is perfect for removing small objects from your images.

To use the Clone Stamp tool, first select it from the toolbox.

Then, position the cursor over the area you want to clone. Hold down the Alt key (Windows) or Option key (macOS) and click to set the clone source.

Now move the cursor to the area you want to clone the source to and start painting. The source area will be copied to the target area.

If you need to adjust the clone source, simply hold down the Alt key (Windows) or Option key (macOS) and click on a new area.

Removing larger objects with the Eraser tool

The Eraser tool is perfect for removing larger objects from your images.

To use the Eraser tool, first select it from the toolbox.

Then, position the cursor over the area you want to erase.

Click and drag to erase the object. The erased area will be filled with the background color.

If you need to adjust the size of the eraser, use the left and right bracket keys ([ and ]).

You can also change the hardness of the eraser by pressing the Shift key and using the left and right bracket keys. A harder eraser will have a harder edge and a softer eraser will have a softer edge.

Filling in the gaps with the Inpainting Brush

Once you’ve removed the unwanted object from the image, you’ll likely be left with some empty space.

To fill in the gaps, select the Inpainting Brush from the toolbox.

Then, position the cursor over the area you want to fill in and start painting. The Inpainting Brush will automatically sample the surrounding area and fill in the gaps.

And that’s it! You’ve successfully removed an unwanted object from your image.

Assuming you have a layer mask on the layer you want to remove the object from, select the Brush Tool (B) from the Tools Panel.

Next, set your Foreground Color to black and your Background Color to white. Then, in the Options Bar, set the Brush Mode to Normal and the Opacity to 100%.

Now, simply paint over the object you want to remove. As you do, the object will disappear, revealing the layer beneath it.

If you make a mistake and remove too much, simply switch your Foreground Color and Background Color and paint over the area again. This time, the object will reappear.

Once you’re happy with the results, save your image and you’re done!

Removing unwanted objects from your images can be a quick and easy way to improve the overall look of your photos. With the Brush Tool and a little bit of patience, you can remove just about anything from your photos in Affinity Photo.

In Affinity Photo, the Clone Stamp tool is your best friend when it comes to removing unwanted objects from your photos. With this tool, you can select an area of your photo that you want to use as a “clone” or replacement for the area that contains the unwanted object.

Here’s how to use the Clone Stamp tool to remove unwanted objects from your photos:

1. Select the Clone Stamp tool from the Tools palette.

2. In the Tool Options bar, choose a brush size and shape that will be appropriate for the area you’re working on.

3. Select a clone source by holding down the Alt key (Windows) or Option key (Mac) and clicking on the area of the photo that you want to use as a replacement for the area containing the unwanted object.

4. Release the Alt/Option key, and then click and drag the Clone Stamp tool over the area that contains the unwanted object. As you drag, you’ll see the area you selected as your clone source being replicated.

5. When you’re finished, deselect the Clone Stamp tool by pressing the Esc key.

The Clone Stamp tool is a powerful tool that can be used for a variety of purposes, including removing unwanted objects from photos. With a little practice, you’ll be able to master this tool and use it to create flawless photos.

In the final step, you will need to use the ‘Invert’ tool to remove the remaining unwanted object from the image.

To do this, select the ‘Invert’ tool from the ‘Edit’ menu.

Click on the ‘Invert’ button and then click on the unwanted object.

The object will be removed from the image.

Now, you can save the image by selecting the ‘File’ menu and then clicking on the ‘Save’ option.

In this tutorial, we’re going to learn how to remove unwanted objects from photos in Affinity Photo.

There are a few different ways to go about doing this, and which one you use will depend on the specifics of your image.

If the object you want to remove is relatively small and isolated, you can use the Clone Stamp tool. This tool allows you to clone a part of the image and use it to cover up the unwanted object.

To use the Clone Stamp tool, select it from the toolbar and then position the cursor over the area you want to clone. Hold down the Alt key and click to select the source area. Then, simply paint over the unwanted object to cover it up.

If the object you want to remove is larger or if it’s located in a complex area, you can use the Content-Aware Fill tool. This tool analyzes the surrounding area and fills in the selected area with content that matches.

To use the Content-Aware Fill tool, select it from the toolbar and then click and drag to select the area you want to fill. Then, simply click the Fill button and Affinity Photo will do the rest.

Finally, if you’re dealing with a really complex object or if you want to remove an object from a person or animal, you can use the Liquify filter. This filter allows you to push, pull, and distort the pixels in an image.

To use the Liquify filter, select it from the Filters menu and then use the various tools to push, pull, and distort the pixels until the unwanted object is removed.

That’s all there is to it! With these three methods, you should be able to remove just about any unwanted object from a photo in Affinity Photo.
