Introduction

Affinity Photo is a great program for editing photos and one of its best features is the ability to remove backgrounds from images. This can be useful for many purposes, such as creating a collage or removing an unwanted object from a photo. In this article, we’ll show you how to remove backgrounds in Affinity Photo.

Step 1: Select the Object

The first step is to select the object that you want to remove from the background. There are many ways to do this, but we recommend using the “Select Object” tool. This tool can be found in the “Tools” menu at the top of the screen.

Once you’ve selected the “Select Object” tool, simply click on the object that you want to remove. Affinity Photo will automatically create a selection around the object.

Step 2: Invert the Selection

Now that you have a selection around the object, you need to invert the selection. This can be done by going to the “Select” menu at the top of the screen and choosing “Invert”.

Step 3: Delete the Background

With the background selected, you can now delete it. Simply press the “Delete” key on your keyboard or go to the “Edit” menu and choose “Cut”.

Step 4: Save the Image

The final step is to save the image. Go to the “File” menu and choose “Save As”. In the “Save As” dialog, choose the format you want to save the image in (JPEG, PNG, etc.) and then click the “Save” button.

That’s all there is to it! You should now know how to remove backgrounds in Affinity Photo.

In this tutorial we’re going to look at how to remove backgrounds in Affinity Photo.

There are a few different ways to do this, and which one you use will depend on the image you’re working with and what you want the final result to look like.

If you have an image with a complex background, or one that is difficult to select, you can use the Quick Selection tool to quickly create a selection.

To do this, simply click on the Quick Selection tool in the toolbar, then click and drag over the area you want to select.

If you make a mistake, you can hold down the Alt key and click on the area you want to deselect.

Once you’re happy with your selection, you can invert it by going to Select > Invert, or by pressing Ctrl+Shift+I.

This will select everything except the area you just selected.

Now you can delete the background by pressing the Delete key, or by going to Edit > Delete.

If you want to keep the background and just change the color, you can do this by going to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation.

Then, in the Hue/Saturation dialog, check the “Colorize” box and play around with the Hue, Saturation, and Lightness sliders until you get the result you want.

You can also use the Quick Selection tool to select the foreground object, then press the Shift key and click on the background to add it to the selection.

Once you have everything selected, you can inverse the selection and delete the background, or colorize it as described above.

Another way to remove a background is to use the Background Eraser tool.

This tool works by sampling the color of the pixels as you move the cursor over them.

It then deletes any pixels that match the sampled color.

To use the Background Eraser tool, select it from the toolbar, then click and drag over the area you want to erase.

As you move the cursor, you’ll see a preview of what will be erased.

If you need to be more precise, you can hold down the Alt key and click on the area you want to sample.

Then, when you move the cursor over the area you want to erase, only the colors that match the sampled color will be erased.

You can also use the Background Eraser tool to create a mask.

To do this, select the layer you want to mask, then click on the “Mask” button in the toolbar.

This will create a new layer mask.

Now, select the Background Eraser tool and erase the background.

What’s left will be the masked object on a transparent background.

If you want to select the foreground object and mask out the background, you can use the Quick Selection tool to select the object, then press the Shift key and click on the background to add it to the selection.

Once you have everything selected, click on the “Mask” button in the toolbar.

This will create a new layer mask from the selection.

Now you can delete the background layer, or colorize it as described above.

Masking is a powerful technique that gives you a lot of control over how your image looks.

There are a few different ways to do it in Affinity Photo, and which one you use will depend on the image you’re working with and what you want the final result to look like.

experiment and see what works best for you.

In the Layers panel, click on the layer that contains the background you want to remove. Then click on the “Add Layer Mask” icon at the bottom of the panel.

A layer mask thumbnail will appear on the layer, and the layer mask will be selected in the document.

To remove the background, use a black brush to paint over it. As you paint, the background will be removed, revealing the layer beneath it.

If you make a mistake and remove too much, you can use a white brush to paint over the area you want to restore.

When you’re finished, click the “Apply” button at the bottom of the Layers panel to apply the layer mask.
