What is Guided Access?
Guided Access is an accessibility feature that allows you to stay focused on a task by temporarily limiting your iPhone to a single app and disabling the Home button. This can be useful for people with autism or attention deficit disorder (ADD), or anyone who wants to stay focused on a task.
How to Enable Guided Access
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap

How to Use Guided Access
- Open the app that you want to use with Guided Access.
- Triple-click the Home button.
- Tap
Start
at the top of the screen. - Use the options to customize Guided Access. You can disable the Sleep/Wake button, the volume buttons, the motion sensor, the keyboard, and touch input.
- Tap
Start
in the top right corner.
How to Exit Guided Access
- Triple-click the Home button.
- Enter your passcode.
- Tap
End
in the top right corner.
Assuming you have an iPhone 14, in order to enable Guided Access, you’ll need to go to:
Settings > Accessibility > Guided Access.
Once you’re in the Guided Access settings, you’ll need to do the following:
1. Tap the “On/Off” switch to turn Guided Access on.
2. Set a passcode that will be used to disable Guided Access. This is important, as without the passcode, Guided Access cannot be disabled.
3. Tap the “Options” button.
4. In the options menu, you can configure various settings related to Guided Access, such as whether or not the device’s volume buttons can be used, whether or not the device can be put to sleep, and whether or not Touch ID can be used to exit Guided Access.
5. Once you’ve configured the options to your liking, tap the “Start” button.
Once Guided Access is enabled, your iPhone 14 will remain in the current app until you disable Guided Access. To disable Guided Access, you’ll need to triple-click the side button, enter the passcode you set earlier, and then tap the “End” button.
Assuming you have an iPhone 14, the following steps will enable Guided Access:
1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
2. Scroll down and select “Accessibility.”
3. Scroll down and select “Guided Access.”
4. Toggle the switch next to “Guided Access” to the green “on” position.
5. Tap the “Accessibility Shortcut” option.
6. Choose a three-finger triple-click as your shortcut.
Now that Guided Access is enabled, you can use it to control which app you’re using and how long you’re using it. To do so:
1. Open the app you want to use with Guided Access.
2. triple-click the Home button.
3. The Guided Access options will appear. Use the options at the top of the screen to control which features are available while using the app. For example, you can disable the Home button, volume buttons, and more.
4. Tap “Start” in the top-right corner of the screen.
You’re now using Guided Access! To exit Guided Access, triple-click the Home button and enter your passcode.
If you have an iPhone with Face ID, you can use Guided Access to keep your device locked to a single app. This can be useful if you want to prevent yourself from using other apps, or if you want to limit access to your device for a child.
To turn on Guided Access, go to Settings > Accessibility > Guided Access. Then, turn on Guided Access and set a passcode that only you will know.
Now, whenever you want to start using Guided Access, go to the app that you want to use and triple-click the side button. You’ll see the option to start Guided Access. Once you do, the app will be locked and you’ll only be able to use it until you triple-click the side button again and enter your passcode.
You can also use Guided Access to control which features are available in an app. For example, you can disable the ability to use the Home button or volume buttons. To do this, go to Settings > Accessibility > Guided Access and turn on the toggle for Accessibility Features.
Then, when you triple-click the side button to start Guided Access, you’ll see the option to enable or disable certain features.
Guided Access is a useful tool if you want to prevent yourself from using other apps or if you want to limit access to your device for a child.
Assuming you have completed the previous steps, you should now be able to enable Guided Access on your iPhone 14. To do this, simply go to “Settings” and then “Accessibility.” Once there, select “Guided Access” and toggle the switch to the “On” position.
You will now be able to set up Guided Access by following the on-screen instructions. Once you have done so, you can begin using Guided Access by triple-clicking the Home button. This will bring up the Guided Access options menu. From here, you can start a session, end a session, or change the settings.
One of the great things about Guided Access is that it allows you to limit the iPhone 14 to a single app. This can be extremely useful if you want to prevent yourself from using certain apps, or if you want to make sure that you only use a specific app for a specific purpose.
To limit the iPhone 14 to a single app, simply go to the “Settings” menu and then select “Guided Access.” Next, select “App Limits.” From here, you can select the app that you want to limit access to. Once you have done so, you can then toggle the switch to the “On” position.
If you ever want to disable Guided Access, simply go to the “Settings” menu and then select “Accessibility.” Next, select “Guided Access” and toggle the switch to the “Off” position.
