In Affinity Photo there are two ways to crop and resize an image. You can either use the Crop tool or the Resize tool.
The Crop tool can be found in the Tools palette. To crop an image using the Crop tool, first select the tool and then click and drag on the image to create a rectangular marquee. You can then use the handles on the marquee to resize it. Once you're happy with the selection, you can either press the Enter key to crop the image, or click the Commit button in the Options bar.
The Resize tool can be found in the Tools palette. To resize an image using the Resize tool, first select the tool and then click and drag on the image to create a rectangular marquee. You can then use the handles on the marquee to resize it. Once you're happy with the selection, you can either press the Enter key to resize the image, or click the Commit button in the Options bar.
If you want to keep the aspect ratio of the image the same when you're cropping or resizing it, you can hold down the Shift key while you're making the selection.
Once you've cropped or resized an image, you can always undo the changes by going to Edit > Undo, or by pressing Ctrl+Z (Windows) / Command+Z (macOS).
