How to Create and Use Templates in Microsoft PowerPoint on Windows 11

Templates are a great way to give your Microsoft PowerPoint presentation a professional look. You can find templates for almost any topic, from business to personal. And, if you can’t find the perfect template, you can always create your own.

Creating a template is easy. Just open PowerPoint and go to the File tab. Then, click New.

In the search bar, type “template” and select the Templates option. PowerPoint will show you a variety of templates to choose from.

Once you’ve found a template you like, click on it and then click Create. PowerPoint will open a new presentation using the template.

Now, you can start adding your own content to the template. To do this, just click on the placeholder text and start typing. When you’re finished, you can save your presentation as a template by going to the File tab and clicking Save As.

In the Save As window, select PowerPoint Template from the drop-down menu and click Save.

Now, when you want to use the template, just go to the File tab and click New. In the search bar, type “template” and select the Templates option. PowerPoint will show you a list of all the templates you’ve saved. Select the one you want to use and click Create.

If you want to make changes to the template, just open it and make your changes. Then, save it as a template again. This way, you’ll always have the latest version of the template.

When you’re ready to share your presentation, you can export it as a PDF or PowerPoint file. To do this, go to the File tab and click Export.

In the Export window, select the format you want to export the presentation as and click Export.

To add your own content to the blank presentation, you can click on the “Insert” tab and then click on the “New Slide” option. In the “New Slide” dialog box, you can select the “Title and Content” layout and then click on the “Create” button. This will insert a new, blank slide into your presentation.

You can then add your own content to the blank slide by clicking on the “Insert” tab and then clicking on the “Media” option. In the “Media” dialog box, you can select the “Picture” option and then navigate to the location of the image file on your computer. Once you’ve found the image file, you can click on the “Insert” button to insert it into your presentation.

If you want to add audio to your presentation, you can click on the “Insert” tab and then click on the “Media” option. In the “Media” dialog box, you can select the “Audio” option and then navigate to the location of the audio file on your computer. Once you’ve found the audio file, you can click on the “Insert” button to insert it into your presentation.

To add a video to your presentation, you can click on the “Insert” tab and then click on the “Media” option. In the “Media” dialog box, you can select the “Video” option and then navigate to the location of the video file on your computer. Once you’ve found the video file, you can click on the “Insert” button to insert it into your presentation.

Once you’ve added all of the content that you want to include in your presentation, you can click on the “File” menu and then click on the “Save As” option. In the “Save As” dialog box, you can enter a name for your presentation and then select the location where you want to save it. Once you’ve entered a name and location, you can click on the “Save” button to save your presentation.

When you’ve finished customizing your new template, click “File” > “Save As” > “PowerPoint Template” (.potx). Now, whenever you need to create a new presentation using that same basic layout, click “File” > “New” > “From Template” and select your newly-saved template.

If you want to get really fancy, you can even upload your PowerPoint template to Office.com for others to download and use. To do this, go to “File” > “Save & Send” > “Upload to Office.com”. Give your template a name, description, and tags, then click “Publish”. Now, anyone with a Microsoft account can find and download your template from Office.com.
