Getting Started with Apple News on the iPhone 14

Finding and downloading the app

To find the Apple News app, open the App Store and search for “Apple News”. The app has a blue icon with a white N in the center. Tap Get to download the app, then Open once it has finished installing.

Setting up Apple News

When you first open the app, you’ll be asked to Choose Interests. Here, you can select topics that you’d like to see stories about in your For You section. You can also choose whether you’d like to receive Top Stories notifications. Once you’ve made your selections, tap Continue.

On the next screen, you’ll be asked to Sign In with Apple. This will allow you to access your For You section and Favorites on other devices. If you don’t want to sign in, tap Not Now. You can always sign in later by going to Settings > Accounts > Sign In with Apple.

Navigating the app

The Home tab is where you’ll find the For You section, which contains stories personalized for you based on your interests. You can also access the Favorites section, where you can view stories from topics and channels that you’ve favorited. To favorite a topic or channel, tap the star icon next to it.

The Explore tab contains a curated selection of stories organized into Top Stories, Trending Stories, and Featured Channels. You can also search for specific topics or channels.

The Search tab allows you to search for specific topics, channels, or stories. You can also access the Settings menu from here.

Subscribing to channels and topics

To get the most out of Apple News, you’ll want to subscribe to channels and topics. This will ensure that you always have something new to read. To subscribe to a channel or topic, tap the subscribe button next to it. You can also unsubscribe by tapping the subscribe button again.

Accessing your subscriptions

Your subscriptions are managed in the Settings menu. To access this, tap the Search tab, then tap the Settings icon in the top-right corner. Here, you can view all of the channels and topics that you’re subscribed to. You can also unsubscribe from channels and topics, or adjust your Notification settings.

Assuming you have an iPhone 14, the first thing you need to do is download the Apple News app from the App Store.

Once the app is installed, open it and sign in with your Apple ID. You’ll then be asked to choose your interests. Pick at least three topics so that the app can better customize the stories it shows you.

Now you’re ready to start reading! When you first open the app, you’ll see the top stories of the day from your selected interests. You can scroll down to read them all, or tap on a story to read it in full.

If you want to find more stories on a certain topic, just tap on the “Explore” tab at the bottom of the screen. Here you’ll find a variety of different sections to choose from, including “Trending,” “Top Stories,” and “Featured.” You can also search for specific topics or keywords.

When you find an article you want to read, just tap on it to open it. If you want to save it for later, tap the share button in the top right corner and select “Add to Reading List.”

That’s all there is to getting started with Apple News! Now you can keep up with the latest news, no matter where you are.

To add an article to your favorites, tap the heart icon in the top right corner of the article.

To share an article, tap the share icon in the top right corner of the article.

To save an article for offline reading, tap the download icon in the top right corner of the article.

When you’re finished with an article, tap the back arrow in the top left corner of the article.

Apple News offers a variety of topics to choose from. To explore different topics, tap the Topics tab at the bottom of the Apple News app.

To search for a specific topic, article, or website, tap the search icon in the top right corner of the Apple News app.

Apple News also offers a variety of channels. To explore different channels, tap the Channels tab at the bottom of the Apple News app.

To search for a specific channel, tap the search icon in the top right corner of the Apple News app.

When you find a channel that you’re interested in, tap the Subscribe button.

To unsubscribe from a channel, tap the Following button, then tap the Unsubscribe button.

Apple News offers a variety of publications. To explore different publications, tap the Publications tab at the bottom of the Apple News app.

To search for a specific publication, tap the search icon in the top right corner of the Apple News app.

When you find a publication that you’re interested in, tap the Subscribe button.

To unsubscribe from a publication, tap the Following button, then tap the Unsubscribe button.

You can also follow specific authors and topics. To do this, tap the Following tab at the bottom of the Apple News app.

Then, tap the Authors or Topics tab.

To search for a specific author or topic, tap the search icon in the top right corner of the Apple News app.

When you find an author or topic that you’re interested in, tap the Follow button.

To stop following an author or topic, tap the Following button, then tap the Unfollow button.
