Customizing Your Home Automation with Hive Actions and Scenes

If you’ve got a smart home, then you know that one of the best things about it is the automation. Whether it’s turning on the lights when you come home, or setting the temperature to your perfect comfort level, automation makes life easier.

But did you know that you can also customize your automation to suit your needs? With Hive Actions and Scenes, you can create customizations that make your life even easier. Here’s how it works.

Hive Actions

Hive Actions are the building blocks of your automation. They are the things that your smart home will do when certain conditions are met. For example, you can create a Hive Action that will turn on the lights when you come home.

To create a Hive Action, you’ll need to log into the Hive app. Once you’re logged in, tap on the Automation tab. Then, tap the plus icon in the top right corner.

This will bring up the Action creation screen. Here, you’ll need to give your Action a name and select the device that you want to automate. Then, you’ll need to select the trigger. The trigger is the condition that will cause the Action to happen. For example, the trigger for our light-turning-on Action could be when we arrive home.

Once you’ve selected the trigger, you’ll need to select the Action. The Action is the thing that will happen when the trigger is met. So, for our light-turning-on Action, the Action would be to turn on the light.

Once you’ve selected the Action, tap the checkmark in the top right corner to save your Action.

Hive Scenes

Hive Scenes are collections of Actions that happen at the same time. So, if you’ve got a bunch of Actions that you want to happen when you come home, you can put them all into a Scene.

To create a Scene, log into the Hive app and tap on the Automation tab. Then, tap on the Scenes tab. This will bring up the Scene creation screen.

First, you’ll need to give your Scene a name. Then, you can start adding Actions to your Scene. To add an Action, tap on the plus icon in the top right corner. This will bring up the Action creation screen.

From here, you can create your Action just like you would if you were creating a standalone Action. Once you’re finished, tap the checkmark in the top right corner to save your Action.

You can repeat this process to add as many Actions to your Scene as you want. When you’re finished, tap the checkmark in the top right corner to save your Scene.

Now, whenever you want your Scene to happen, all you need to do is log into the Hive app and tap on the Scene. Hive will then take care of the rest!

Customizing Your Home Automation

With Hive Actions and Scenes, you can customize your home automation to suit your needs. Whether you want to create a Scene that will make your home more comfortable when you come home, or you want to automate your lights to turn on when you arrive, Hive makes it easy.

So what are you waiting for? Log into the Hive app and start customizing your home automation today!

If you’re looking to get the most out of your home automation system, you’ll want to take advantage of Hive Actions and Scenes. With these features, you can create custom automations that will make your life easier and your home more comfortable.

What are Hive Actions and Scenes?

Hive Actions and Scenes are two features that allow you to create custom automations within the Hive app. Hive Actions are individual automations that can be triggered manually or by specific conditions, such as a certain time of day or when a door is opened. Scenes are groups of Hive Actions that can be triggered all at once. For example, you could create a “Goodnight” Scene that turns off all the lights and locks all the doors when you’re ready for bed.

Creating Hive Actions

Creating a Hive Action is simple. Start by opening the Hive app and tapping the “+” button in the top-right corner. Then, select “Action” from the list of options.

On the next screen, you’ll be able to choose what kind of action you want to create. There are options for everything from turning lights on and off to adjusting the thermostat. Once you’ve selected the action you want to create, you can further customize it by adding conditions, such as only running the action when it’s dark outside.

Creating Hive Scenes

Creating a Hive Scene is just as easy as creating an action. Start by opening the Hive app and tapping the “+” button in the top-right corner. Then, select “Scene” from the list of options.

On the next screen, you’ll be able to give your scene a name and choose an image to represent it. Then, you can start adding actions to your scene. You can add any action that you’ve created, as well as any action that’s available in the Hive app. Once you’re finished adding actions, tap “Done” in the top-right corner.

Triggering Hive Actions and Scenes

There are two ways to trigger Hive Actions and Scenes: manually and automatically. To trigger an action or scene manually, simply open the Hive app and tap on the action or scene you want to trigger. To trigger an action or scene automatically, you’ll need to set up a trigger.

Triggers are conditions that will cause an action or scene to run automatically. For example, you could set up a trigger that turns on the lights when it gets dark outside. To set up a trigger, open the Hive app and tap the action or scene you want to trigger. Then, tap the “Trigger” tab and choose the trigger you want to use.

Conclusion

Hive Actions and Scenes are two powerful features that can help you get the most out of your home automation system. With these features, you can create custom automations that will make your life easier and your home more comfortable.
