How to Create a Photo Manipulation in Adobe Photoshop

Step 1: Choose Your Photo

The first step is to choose the photo that you want to manipulate. For this tutorial, we will be using a photo of a girl in a field of flowers.

Step 2: Duplicate the Background Layer

Next, we need to duplicate the background layer. To do this, go to the “Layer” menu and select “Duplicate Layer.”

Step 3: Add a Gaussian Blur

Now we need to add a Gaussian Blur to the background layer. To do this, go to the “Filter” menu and select “Blur” > “Gaussian Blur.” Set the radius to 5 pixels and click “OK.”

Step 4: Change the Blending Mode

Now we need to change the blending mode of the background layer to “Soft Light.” To do this, go to the “Layer” menu and select “Blending Options.” In the “Blend Mode” drop-down menu, select “Soft Light.”
