How to Use the Animation Pane in Microsoft PowerPoint on Windows 11

The Animation Pane is a great way to manage your animations in Microsoft PowerPoint. It’s a floating panel that allows you to see all the animations on a slide, and you can use it to re-order, duplicate, or delete animations. You can also use the Animation Pane to change the timing of your animations.

Here’s how to use the Animation Pane in Microsoft PowerPoint on Windows 11.

Open the Animation Pane

To open the Animation Pane, go to the Animations tab on the ribbon and click the Animation Pane button.

The Animation Pane will open on the right side of the screen.

Viewing and Managing Animations

When you add an animation to a slide, it will appear in the Animation Pane. You can see the name of the animation, the type of animation, and the duration.

You can use the Animation Pane to manage your animations. To re-order an animation, click and drag it to the desired position. To duplicate an animation, click the Duplicate button. To delete an animation, click the Delete button.

Changing the Timing of Animations

You can use the Animation Pane to change the timing of your animations. To do this, click the Timing button.

The Timing dialog box will appear. Here, you can change the Start and Duration of the animation, as well as the Delay.

When you’re finished, click the OK button.

Closing the Animation Pane

When you’re finished using the Animation Pane, you can close it by clicking the X button in the upper-right corner.

If you want to add an animation to an object, such as text or a shape, you can use the Animation Pane. The Animation Pane is a task pane that shows all the animations that are applied to the selected object. You can use the Animation Pane to add animations, set animation properties, and reorder animations.

To open the Animation Pane, select an object that has an animation applied to it, and then do one of the following:

On the Animations tab, in the Advanced Animation group, click Animation Pane.

On the Animation tab, in the Timing group, click Animation Pane.

If the Animation Pane is already open, select the object that you want to work with.

When you add an animation to an object, the animation is added to the list in the Animation Pane. By default, the most recently added animation is selected.

You can use the Animation Pane to do the following:

Add an animation

To add an animation, select the object that you want to animate, and then do one of the following:

On the Animations tab, in the Animations group, click the animation that you want to add.

On the Animation tab, in the Add Animation group, click the animation that you want to add.

Set animation properties

After you add an animation, you can set animation properties, such as the timing, delay, and number of times that the animation will play.

To set animation properties, select the animation in the Animation Pane, and then do one of the following:

On the Animations tab, in the Timing group, enter the number of seconds that you want the animation to delay before it starts, and then enter the number of times that you want the animation to play.

On the Animation tab, in the Duration box, enter the number of seconds that you want the animation to delay before it starts, and then enter the number of times that you want the animation to play.

Reorder animations

You can change the order of the animations. The order of the animations determines the order in which the animations play.

To reorder animations, select the animation that you want to move, and then do one of the following:

On the Animations tab, in the Advanced Animation group, click Move Earlier or Move Later.

On the Animation tab, in the reorder group, click Move Earlier or Move Later.

Preview an animation

You can preview how the animations will play.

To preview an animation, on the Animations tab, in the Preview group, click Preview.

Remove an animation

You can remove an animation.

To remove an animation, select the animation in the Animation Pane, and then do one of the following:

On the Animations tab, in the Advanced Animation group, click Remove.

On the Animation tab, in the Remove group, click Remove.

As you work on your PowerPoint presentation, you may want to add some animation to your slides. The Animation Pane is a great way to do this.

To access the Animation Pane, click the Animations tab on the Ribbon. Then, click the Animation Pane button.

The Animation Pane will appear on the right side of your screen.

To add an animation to a slide object, select it in the slide pane. Then, click the Add Animation button in the Animation Pane.

A drop-down menu will appear. Select the type of animation you want to add.

To preview your animation, click the Preview button at the bottom of the Animation Pane.

When you’re happy with your animation, click the Close button.

The next step is to add your animation to the slide. To do this, select the object that you want to animate and click the “Animations” tab. On the “Animations” tab, click the “Add Animation” button.

In the “Add Animation” dialog box, select the animation that you want to add from the “Animation” drop-down list. You can preview the animation by clicking the “Preview” button.

When you have selected the animation that you want to add, click the “OK” button.

The next step is to configure the animation. To do this, select the animation in the “Animation Pane” and click the “Settings” button.

In the “Animation Settings” dialog box, you can configure the animation settings. For example, you can change the animation “Start” option to “On Click” or “With Previous”. You can also add a delay to the animation.

When you have finished configuring the animation, click the “OK” button.

The final step is to test the animation. To do this, click the “Preview” button on the “Animations” tab. The animation will play. If you are satisfied with the animation, click the “Save” button.
