When you want to add a new slide to your PowerPoint presentation, you have the option to choose from a variety of different layouts. Each layout is designed for a specific type of content, so it’s important to select the right layout for your needs.

To select a layout, click the “Layout” icon on the “Home” tab. This will open a menu of all the available layouts. Simply click on the layout you want to use and it will be applied to your new slide.

If you want to change the layout of an existing slide, select it from the “Slides” pane and then click the “Layout” icon. Again, this will open the menu of available layouts. Simply click on the layout you want to use and it will be applied to your selected slide.

There are a few things to keep in mind when using slide layouts. First, make sure that the content you’re adding to your slide fits the layout you’ve chosen. For example, if you’re adding a list of items to your slide, make sure you select a layout that includes a bullet point list.

Second, keep in mind that some layouts include placeholder content. This content is meant to be replaced with your own. To replace placeholder content, simply click on it and start typing.

Finally, remember that you can always change the layout of your slide later if you need to. So if you’re not sure which layout to use, start with a basic layout and then change it later if needed.
