How to Use the FaceTime App in Mac OS Mojave

Starting a Video Call

If you want to start a video call with someone, the first thing you need to do is open the FaceTime app. You can find this app in the Applications folder on your Mac. Once the app is open, you will see a blank screen with a “+” sign in the center. Click on this “+” sign to begin.

The next screen will ask you to choose how you want to start your call. You can either enter a phone number or an email address. If you want to start a call with someone in your Contacts list, you can simply begin typing their name and FaceTime will autofill the rest. Once you have chosen who you want to call, click on the “Video” button to start your call.

If the person you are calling is also using Mac OS Mojave, you will be able to see their screen as they answer the call. If they are not using Mojave, you will still be able to see their face and hear them, but you will not be able to see their screen.

Answering a Video Call

When you receive a FaceTime call, you will see a notification on your screen. You can either choose to answer the call or ignore it. If you choose to answer the call, you will be given the option to answer it as a video call or an audio call. If you choose to answer as a video call, you will be able to see and hear the person who is calling you. If you choose to answer as an audio call, you will only be able to hear the person who is calling you.

Ending a Video Call

When you are finished with your call, you can click on the “End Call” button. This will end the call for both you and the person you are talking to.
