The Google Pixel 7a is a budget-friendly smartphone that still offers high-end features. One of those features is Digital Wellbeing, which is designed to help you manage your screen time. Here’s how to use it.
Step One: Open the Settings App
Open the Settings app on your Google Pixel 7a. You can do this by tapping the icon that looks like a gear.
Step Two: Scroll Down and Tap on Digital Wellbeing
Once you’re in the Settings app, scroll down until you see the “Digital Wellbeing” option. Tap on it.
Step Three: Set Up Screen Time Management
Once you’re in the Digital Wellbeing settings, you’ll see an option for “Screen Time Management.” Tap on it.
On the next screen, you’ll be able to set up a daily limit for your screen time. You can also set up limits for individual apps. Tap on the “Add App Limit” button to get started.
Once you’ve set up your limits, you’ll be able to see your screen time statistics in the “Dashboard” section of the Digital Wellbeing settings. This can help you see how much time you’re spending on your phone and which apps you’re using the most.
Step Four: Use the Wind Down Feature
The “Wind Down” feature in Digital Wellbeing can help you get ready for bed. When you enable this feature, your phone will go into “Do Not Disturb” mode and the screen will turn to grayscale. You can also set up a bedtime schedule so that your phone will automatically enable the Wind Down feature at a certain time.
Step Five: Use the App Timer
If you find yourself using certain apps more than you’d like, you can set up an app timer. This will limit the amount of time you can use an app each day. To set up an app timer, go to the “App Timers” section of the Digital Wellbeing settings.
On the next screen, you’ll be able to select an app and set a daily time limit for it. Once you reach your limit, the app will be blocked for the rest of the day. You can also set up a “wind down” period for the app so that it will be blocked for a certain period of time before your bedtime.
Step Six: Use the Grayscale Mode
If you want to cut down on your screen time, you can enable the Grayscale mode. This will make your screen black and white, which can make it less appealing to use. To enable this mode, go to the “Display” section of the Digital Wellbeing settings.
On the next screen, you’ll see an option for “Grayscale.” Tap on it and then tap on the “Enable” button. Once it’s enabled, your screen will be black and white.

You can also see how many times you’ve unlocked your phone and how many notifications you’ve received. This can help you see how often you’re picking up your phone and whether or not you’re getting too many notifications.
Step Nine: Use the Focus Mode
