In this final section, we’ll learn how to create a text portrait using Adobe Photoshop. This is a great way to add some personality to your photos, and it’s a lot of fun to do!
First, open up Photoshop and create a new document. Make sure the dimensions are large enough to fit your photo (I used 8″x10″). Next, open up your photo and drag it into the new document.
Now we need to add some text. Click on the “Text” tool in the toolbar, and then click somewhere on your photo to add some text. I used the “Impact” font, and I made my text white. You can experiment with different fonts and colors to see what looks best.
Once you’re happy with your text, we need to add some more personality to it. First, let’s give it a drop shadow. To do this, click on the “Layer” menu at the top of the screen, and then click on “Layer Style.” A menu will pop up – click on “Drop Shadow.”
Now we need to add some depth to our text. To do this, click on the “Edit” menu at the top of the screen, and then click on “Transform.” A menu will pop up – click on “Warp.”
A grid will appear over your text. Drag the points on the grid to warp your text. I made my text curved so it would follow the contours of my photo.
Once you’re happy with your text, click on the “File” menu at the top of the screen, and then click on “Save.” That’s it! You’ve now learned how to create a text portrait using Adobe Photoshop.
Now that you have chosen your text, you need to decide on a font. A good rule of thumb is to use a sans serif font for your portrait, as they are generally easier to read. Once you have selected a font, you need to decide on a size. Again, a good rule of thumb is to use a font size that is large enough to be easily read, but not so large that it overwhelze your text to decide on the best font size for your portrait.
Next, you need to decide on a color scheme for your text portrait. A good way to start is to choose two or three colors that complement each other. Once you have chosen your colors, you need to decide on a layout for your text. A good way to start is to center your text on the canvas.
Once you have decided on a layout, you need to start typing out your text. As you type, you will want to keep an eye on the kerning, or the spacing between the letters. Kerning is an important aspect of typography, and you want to make sure that your text is easy to read.
When you are finished typing out your text, you may want to add some embellishments. You can do this by adding shapes, lines, or other graphics to your portrait. This is a great way to add some personality to your text portrait.
When you are finished, you should save your text portrait. You can do this by going to File > Save As. Choose a file format that is compatible with your computer, and then click Save.
