Video is a powerful way to enliven a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. You can use video to demonstrate a process, show off a product, or simply add some visual interest to your slides. In this article, we’ll show you how to insert videos in Microsoft PowerPoint on Windows 11.
The first thing you’ll need to do is find a video file that you want to insert into your PowerPoint presentation. You can use a video file that is stored on your computer, or you can use a video file that is stored on a website such as YouTube.
Once you have found a video file that you want to insert, open Microsoft PowerPoint and create a new presentation. Click on the “Insert” tab, and then click on the “Video” icon.
You will see two options for inserting video into your PowerPoint presentation: “Insert video from file” and “Insert video from website”.
If you want to insert a video file that is stored on your computer, click on the “Insert video from file” option. Then, use the “Browse” button to locate the video file on your computer. Once you have located the video file, click on the “Insert” button.
If you want to insert a video file that is stored on a website, such as YouTube, click on the “Insert video from website” option. Then, paste the URL of the video into the “Video URL” field. Once you have pasted the URL of the video, click on the “Insert” button.
Your video will now be inserted into your PowerPoint presentation. You can use the “Play” button to preview the video, and you can use the “Pause” button to stop the video.
When you are ready to start the video during your PowerPoint presentation, click on the “Play” button. The video will start playing from the beginning.
If you want the video to start playing from a specific point, such as the middle or the end, you can use the “Seek” slider to choose the starting point for the video.
You can also use the “Volume” slider to adjust the volume of the video.
Once the video has started playing, you can use the “Pause” button to pause the video. You can also use the “Stop” button to stop the video.
If you want to remove the video from your PowerPoint presentation, click on the “Delete” button.
Older versions of PowerPoint may have trouble playing videos in some formats. You can try downloading a free video converter like Handbrake to convert your video into a format that PowerPoint can play.
Once you have your video in a compatible format, open PowerPoint and go to the slide where you want to insert the video. Then, click the “Insert” tab and click “Video” in the “Media” group.
In the “Insert Video” window that appears, select the video you want to insert and click “Insert.” The video will be inserted onto your slide.
You can then resize and move the video around on the slide as needed. To play the video, click the “Play” button that appears in the bottom-left corner of the video.
You can also add audio to your PowerPoint presentation by clicking the “Insert” tab and clicking “Audio” in the “Media” group. Then, select the audio file you want to insert and click “Insert.”
The audio will be inserted onto your slide and will start playing automatically when you view the slide. You can click the “Play” button to pause and resume playback, or click the “Stop” button to stop playback.
You can also adjust the volume of the audio by clicking the “Volume” button and selecting a level.
If you want to add a video from YouTube, Vimeo, or another website, click the “Insert” tab and click “Video” in the “Media” group. Then, click “Online Video.”
