How to Set Up and Use iCloud Keychain in Mac OS Mojave
Apple’s iCloud Keychain feature is the company’s attempt to make a basic level of password management available to all its users. It’s a simple, convenient way to store and sync your passwords and other sensitive information across all your Apple devices. And it’s built into every Mac running macOS Mojave.
In this article, we’ll show you how to set up and use iCloud Keychain. We’ll also touch on some of the security features that make it a safe and secure way to store your sensitive information.
What is iCloud Keychain?
iCloud Keychain is a password management system that Apple first introduced with OS X Mavericks in 2013. It’s designed to store your passwords and other sensitive information in a secure manner, and to sync that information across all your Apple devices.
iCloud Keychain is built into every Mac running macOS Mojave. It can also be used on iOS devices, though some features are not available on iOS due to limitations imposed by Apple.
How to Set Up iCloud Keychain
Setting up iCloud Keychain is a simple process. First, you need to make sure that you’re signed in to iCloud on all the devices you want to use with iCloud Keychain.
On your Mac, open System Preferences and click on the iCloud preference pane.
Make sure that the iCloud Keychain checkbox is selected.
On your iOS device, open the Settings app and tap on iCloud.
Make sure that the iCloud Keychain switch is turned on.
If you’re prompted to enter a phone number or email address, make sure to use the same one that you’re using on your Mac. This is so that iCloud can sync your iCloud Keychain across all your devices.
Once iCloud Keychain is enabled on all your devices, you’re ready to start using it.
