How to Enable Screen Sharing in Mac OS Mojave

Screen sharing is a built-in feature of Mac OS that is disabled by default. To enable screen sharing, open the Sharing preferences pane in System Preferences.

In the left sidebar, select the Screen Sharing checkbox.

In the right pane, you’ll see the Screen Sharing options. By default, anyone on your local network can request permission to share your screen. If you’d like to restrict access to only specific users, you can add them to the list of allowed users.

How to Use Screen Sharing in Mac OS Mojave

Once screen sharing is enabled, you can initiate a screen sharing session from the Finder or the Sharing preferences pane.

To initiate a screen sharing session from the Finder, open a Finder window and select the Go menu. Then, select Connect to Server.

In the Connect to Server window, enter vnc:// followed by the IP address or hostname of the computer you want to share your screen with.

Click the Connect button.

1. Open the Messages app and start a new conversation or open an existing one.

2. Click on the Details button in the top right corner of the window.

3. Click on the Screen Share button in the bottom left corner of the window.

4. A new window will open with a preview of your screen. Click on the Share button to start sharing your screen with the other person.

5. To stop sharing your screen, click on the Stop Sharing button in the top right corner of the window.

Assuming the other person you want to share your screen with also has a Mac, the process couldn’t be simpler. Just follow these steps:

1. Open the Messages app on your Mac.

2. Start a new conversation or open an existing one.

3. Click on the Details button in the top-right corner of the window.

4. Click on the Screen Share button.

5. Select Share Screen from the menu.

6. Select the screen you want to share in the pop-up window.

7. Click Share.

The other person will now be able to see your screen and control it. If you want to stop sharing your screen, just click on the Screen Share button again and select Stop Sharing.

In order to use Screen Sharing in Mac OS Mojave, you need to set up a few things first.

First, you need to make sure that Screen Sharing is turned on in the Sharing preferences pane. To do this, go to System Preferences and then click on the Sharing icon.
