How to Use the Selection Brush Tool in Affinity Photo

The Selection Brush tool in Affinity Photo is one of the most powerful and versatile tools available for making selections. In this article, we’ll show you how to use the Selection Brush tool to make precise selections in your photos.
The Selection Brush tool is located in the toolbar on the left side of the screen. To select the Selection Brush tool, simply click on the icon in the toolbar.
Once you have selected the Selection Brush tool, you will see a number of options in the toolbar on the right side of the screen. These options include the size of the brush, the hardness of the brush, and the opacity of the brush.
To adjust the size of the brush, simply click on the size option in the toolbar and then use the slider to adjust the size of the brush. To adjust the hardness of the brush, simply click on the hardness option in the toolbar and then use the slider to adjust the hardness of the brush. To adjust the opacity of the brush, simply click on the opacity option in the toolbar and then use the slider to adjust the opacity of the brush.

First, let’s open an image that we want to make a selection from. For this tutorial, we’ll use this image of a cupcake:
Next, we’ll select the Selection Brush tool from the Tools panel.
Now we’ll simply brush over the cupcake with the Selection Brush tool to create a selection of it.
Once we’re happy with our selection, we can add a layer mask to it. To do this, we’ll click the “Add Layer Mask” button in the Layers panel.
Now we have a layer mask that is hiding everything in the image except for the cupcake.
