How to Set Up Notifications in Microsoft To Do on Windows 11

Task management apps are designed to make our lives easier by helping us keep track of our to-dos and schedule our time more efficiently. But if we’re not careful, they can end up becoming yet another time-suck in our lives.

That’s why it’s important to set up notifications in Microsoft To Do so that you only get alerts for the things that are truly important to you. In this article, we’ll show you how to do just that.

First, open the Microsoft To Do app on your Windows 11 computer. Click the Settings gear icon in the top-right corner of the screen.

In the Settings menu, click Notifications.

On the Notifications page, you can decide how you want to be notified of your tasks. You can choose to get notifications in the Action Center, on your desktop, or both.

You can also decide how many minutes before a task is due you want to be notified, and whether or not you want to hear a sound when a notification pops up.

Once you’ve made your choices, click the Save button in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

Now, when you create a task in Microsoft To Do, you can click the bell icon next to the task to choose how you want to be notified of it.

You can choose to be notified on your desktop, in the Action Center, or both. You can also choose how many minutes before the task is due you want to be notified, and whether or not you want to hear a sound when the notification pops up.

If you want to be notified of all tasks due today, click the Today button in the top-left corner of the Microsoft To Do window. Then, in the top-right corner of the screen, click the bell icon and choose how you want to be notified.

As with Windows 10, there are two ways to set up notifications in Microsoft To Do on Windows 11. The first is through the Settings app, and the second is through the Microsoft To Do app itself.

Through the Settings app

If you want to manage your notifications through the Settings app, follow these steps:

1. Open the Settings app and go to System > Notifications & actions.

2. Under the “Notifications” section, find the “Microsoft To Do” entry and click on it.

3. Here, you can turn off notifications for Microsoft To Do entirely, or you can customize them to your liking. For example, you can choose whether to show a banner, play a sound, or vibrate your device when a new notification arrives.

4. Once you’re done, click the “Save” button.

Through the Microsoft To Do app

If you prefer to manage your notifications through the Microsoft To Do app, follow these steps:

1. Open the Microsoft To Do app and click on the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner.

2. From the menu that appears, select “Settings”.

3. In the “Settings” window that opens, go to the “Notifications” section.

4. Here, you can turn off notifications for Microsoft To Do entirely, or you can customize them to your liking. For example, you can choose whether to show a banner, play a sound, or vibrate your device when a new notification arrives.

5. Once you’re done, click the “Save” button.

And that’s all there is to it! By following either of the methods above, you can easily customize your notifications in Microsoft To Do on Windows 11.

If you want to ensure that you never miss a beat in your work tasks, you can set up notifications in Microsoft To Do on Windows 11. You can receive notifications for new tasks, task deadlines, and completed tasks. Notifications can be set up for individual task lists or for your entire account.

To set up notifications in Microsoft To Do on Windows 11, open the Microsoft To Do app. Click the three dots in the top right corner of the app and select Settings.

In the Settings menu, select the Notifications tab. Here, you can toggle on or off notifications for new tasks, task deadlines, and completed tasks. You can also choose to receive notifications for all task lists or just individual task lists.

If you want to receive notifications for new tasks, toggle on the New tasks switch. You can then choose to receive notifications for all task lists or just individual task lists.

If you want to receive notifications for completed tasks, toggle on the Completed tasks switch. You can then choose to receive notifications for all task lists or just individual task lists.

You can also choose how you want to receive notifications. You can choose to receive notifications in the Microsoft To Do app, in the Windows Action Center, or both. To receive notifications in the Microsoft To Do app, toggle on the In-app notifications switch. To receive notifications in the Windows Action Center, toggle on the Windows Action Center notifications switch.

Once you’ve configured your notifications settings, click the Save button. Your notifications will now be set up and you’ll receive notifications for new tasks, task deadlines, and completed tasks in Microsoft To Do on Windows 11.

1. Open the Settings app.

2. Click System.

The System settings page will open.

3. Click Notifications & Actions.

The Notifications & Actions settings page will open.

4. In the “Notifications” section, click the switch under “Get notifications from apps and other senders” to turn it On.

The switch will turn blue to indicate that notifications are now enabled.

5. In the “Get notifications from these senders” list, click Microsoft To Do.

A pop-up window will appear. By default, Microsoft To Do is set to “Show notifications in action center and play a sound”.

6. Click the drop-down menu and select one of the following options:

  • Show notifications for new tasks only
  • Show notifications for all tasks
  • Don’t show notifications

You can also click the “Advanced options” link to further customize your notifications. For example, you can choose to have notifications appear on your lock screen, or you can choose how long they appear in the action center.

7. When you’re finished, click the “X” in the top-right corner of the pop-up window to close it.

Your changes will be automatically saved.
