How to Use the News App in Mac OS Mojave

The News app in Mac OS Mojave is a great way to keep up with the latest news and information. The app provides a personalized experience, with a personalized list of news sources and topics. You can also add your own news sources to the app.

The News app is available in the Dock, in the Applications folder, and in Launchpad.

To open the News app, click the News icon in the Dock, or click the News icon in the Applications folder.

The News app opens to the Today view. The Today view shows you the top stories from your news sources, as well as the weather and stocks.

To add a news source, click the Add button in the Today view.

In the Add News Source window, select a news source from the list. You can also search for a news source by name or URL.

To add a topic, click the Add button in the Today view.

In the Add Topic window, enter a topic, such as Sports, or a keyword, such as football.

The News app automatically adds news sources and topics that match your interests.

To remove a news source or topic, hover over the news source or topic, and click the X button.

To read a story, click the story.

The story opens in the Detail view.

To share a story, click the Share button.

In the Share window, select how you want to share the story. You can share the story by email, Messages, Twitter, or Facebook.

To save a story, click the Save button.

The story is saved to your Saved Stories folder.

To see your Saved Stories, click the Saved icon in the Dock.

The Saved Stories folder opens in a new window.

To delete a story, hover over the story, and click the X button.

In the News app on your Mac, do any of the following:

Add a news source: Click the Add a Source button in the sidebar, then enter the URL of the website.

Remove a news source: Select the source in the sidebar, then click the Delete button .

Reorder news sources: Drag a source up or down in the sidebar.

View articles from all your sources: Click All in the sidebar.

View articles from a specific source: Click the source in the sidebar.

See more articles from a source: Click Show More next to the source.

Hide articles from a source: Click Hide next to the source.

Get notifications for new articles: Select Notifications in the sidebar, then select the checkbox next to a source.

Choose how often to check for new articles: Select Settings in the sidebar, then click Scheduled. Select a schedule: Every hour, Every 6 hours, or Every 12 hours.

Mark all articles as read: Select Settings in the sidebar, then click Mark All as Read.

Show article list in the menu bar: Select Settings in the sidebar, then select the checkbox next to Show in Menu Bar.

When you add a news source, the app automatically tries to find the website’s RSS feed. If the website doesn’t have a feed, you can’t add it as a source.

The News app can help you keep up with the day’s events, even if you don’t have time to read all the articles. In the sidebar, select Notifications, then select the checkbox next to a source. The app shows you the number of new articles next to the source in the sidebar, and you can click the notification badge to see the new articles.

You can also set the app to check for new articles on a schedule. In the sidebar, select Settings, then click Scheduled. Select a schedule: Every hour, Every 6 hours, or Every 12 hours.

If you have a lot of sources, you can filter the articles list to show only those from a specific source. In the sidebar, click the source, then click All in the toolbar.

To quickly find an article, type a word or phrase in the search field in the toolbar. The app searches the titles and descriptions of the articles in your sources, and displays a list of matching articles.

When you first open the News app in Mac OS Mojave, you’ll be prompted to choose which countries’ and regions’ news you’d like to see. Once you’ve made your selections, you can further customize your experience by choosing which topics and channels you’d like to follow.

To add new topics and channels, click on the “Edit” button in the bottom left corner of the app. From here, you can add or remove topics and channels by clicking on the “+” or “-” buttons next to each one. You can also reorder your topics and channels by dragging and dropping them into the order you prefer.

If you see a story that interests you, simply click on it to read the full article. When you’re finished reading, you can click on the “Back” button in the top left corner of the article to return to your news feed.

If you want to share a story with someone, click on the “Share” button in the top right corner of the article. From here, you can share the story via email, social media, or any other method you prefer.

You can also save articles to read later by clicking on the “Add to Reading List” button in the top right corner of the article. Articles you save will be available to read even when you’re offline.
