Task management apps are a dime a dozen. It seems like every other day, a new one pops up on the App Store or Google Play, each with its own unique take on getting things done. But despite the plethora of options, Microsoft To Do remains one of the most popular, thanks to its clean design and integration with the rest of Microsoft’s productivity suite.

Part of what makes To Do so great is its flexibility. Whether you’re a student working on a group project or a busy parent trying to keep track of the family schedule, To Do can be customized to fit your needs. One of the ways you can do this is by assigning due dates to subtasks.

Here’s how to assign due dates to subtasks in Microsoft To Do on Windows 10.

First, open the Microsoft To Do app and sign in with your Microsoft account. If you don’t have a Microsoft account, you can create one for free.

Once you’re signed in, click the “Add a task” button in the top-right corner of the screen.

Enter the name of your task and, if you want, a description. Then, click the “Add subtasks” button.

You’ll see a new field appear for each subtask. Enter the name of the subtask and, if you want, a description.

To assign a due date to a subtask, click the “Due date” field and select the date from the calendar.

When you’re finished, click the “Add task” button.

That’s all there is to it! Assigning due dates to subtasks is a great way to keep track of smaller pieces of a larger task. And because To Do integrates with the rest of Microsoft’s productivity suite, you can easily share your tasks and subtasks with others.
